OTs-14 Groza Special Weapon System

The Groza (Thunderstorm) is manufactured by Tula Sporting and Hunting Guns Central Research and Design Bureau, Russia. Uses a bullpup configuration 75% common parts with the AKS-74U. Available in 7.62mm S, 5.45mm B and 5.56mm N, and 9x39 mm. The 9mm version was introduced by Russia's Interior Ministry (MVD) in April 1994 for service in Chechnya. The 7.62mm model was taken into service by the Russian Airborne forces (including Spetsnaz) and combat engineers in 1998 (available in small qualities in T2K).

The OTs-14 system be built up as an assault rifle (with or with out a grenade launcher), a short carbine, or a suppressed sniper rifle. 5.45x39 and 5.56x45 versions were designed but have not enetered service.

Sight options include telescopic and all standard Russian night vision scopes.

OTs-14-4A (Groza 9/40mm)

OTs-14-4A Has attached grenade launcher, derived from the GP-25 (BG-15 from T2K) 40mm grenade launcher (GL). The GL uses the same trigger group and is selected via the safety/mode lever on the rifle. HE and CS gas rounds are available. Weight: 4 kg

OTs-14-4A-01 Assault rifle version, vertical grip replaces GL. Weight: 2.9 kg

OTs-14-4A-02 Short barrel carbine version, GL not fitted. Weight: 2.7 kg. Bulk should be 3, but changed to 2 to reflect better 'handiness', without grenade launcher.

OTs-14-4A-03 Suppresser (Merc:2000 as sound level II) and optical sight, GL not fitted. Bulk should also be 3, but changed to 4 due to silencer unbalancing weapon. Weight: 4 kg (includes 0.5 kg suppressor and 0.4 kg sight)

Ammo: 9x39mm SP-5, SP-6

Magazine: 20 Box

Price: $2000 (-/R) as kit in carry case.

'Pen' and 'Range' are for the SP-5 Sniper/SP-6 AP rounds.

9mm SP-5/6 (9x39mm)

The 9mm Makarev round necked up with a 7.62mm S cartridge

Weight: 23 kg per case of 1000, 0.5 kg per 20 round magazine. Price: $150 per case of SP-5, $250 per case of SP-6 (-/R).

OTs-14-4B (Groza 7.62/40mm)

Uses regular AKM 30 round box magazines. The OTs-14-4B in the 'Twilight:2000' setting will be mainly used by Spetsnaz troops.

Ammo: 7.62x39mm (7.62 mm S)

Weight: 4.1 kg as OTs-14-4B (with GL), 3.1 kg as OTs-14-4B-01 (without GL), suppressor 0.6 kg, sight o.4 kg.

The 57-N-231 AP round maximum damage is always 2. The 57-N-231U round when used with a suppressor, is Merc:2000 Level II sound. The higher recoil values are for the lighter OTs-14-4B-01.
