The G36/7A3 is a true modular weapon system available only in 7.62x51mm NATO (.308 Winchester) caliber. Constructed almost entirely of a tough, carbon fiber reinforced polymer material and using a simple, self-regulating gas system, the G36 provides the user with a lightweight weapon that delivers high performance with extremely low maintenance. Battle proven and currently fielded with the Armed Forces of over 30 nations, the G36 is now available to CAS, CalFree, and NAN law enforcement and military customers.

The barrel of the G36 can be exchanged by unit armorers to be configured into three major variants. The G36/7 Battle Rifle and MG36/7 Light Support Weapon, all using the same common receiver.

The G36 Weapon System includes the following:

· 22" (558mm) Heavy weight, chrome-plated, cold hammer forged barrel with 1 in 12 inch twist rifling.

· 3 Tough 20-round translucent polymer magazines that can be locked together without a magazine clamp. They are 30% lighter than metal magazines and are corrosion proof.

· 2 100-round dual drum magazines.

· Reinforced folding buttstock.

· Detachable folding bipod.

· Complete field cleaning kit.

Options available on the G36/7 Weapon system include:

· G36/7 Sight: This single sight system uses a 3.5x optical sight integrated into the detachable carrying handle. Backup iron sights adjustable for windage and elevation to 1,000 meters are located on the top of the sight and carrying handle.

Smartlink Targeting System: This sight system includes HK's award-winning ADVAT.328 compliant SL2 Smartlink system in place of the optical sight found on the Export sight. Backup iron sights are located on the top of the sight and carrying handle.
