Land forces: 7 500 people, 3 military districts, 2 motorized infantry brigades (7 infantry battalions), 1 training regiment, 1 detached chasseur regiment, 1 battalion of engineers, 1 artillery battalion, 1 company of the peace-making forces. The reserve: 10 regiments, 36 battalions, 130 companies of the territorial defence, 2 army-co-operation aviation squadrons.

Arms: 71 armored troop carriers (49 M113A1, 11 ATC BTR-60 and 11 M42 Pcsible), 10 BRDM-2, 10 MT-LB, 42 120 mm mortars, 119 84 mm recoilless guns Karl Gustav, 170 РПГ-2.
