Arms: 78 tanks Vikkers Mk3, 92 armoured reconnaissance vehicles, 62 armored troop carriers, 40 105 mm towed howitzers, 62 81 and 120 mm mortars, 54 antitank missile systems (40 Milan, 14 Swingair), 80 recoilless guns, about 100 antiaircraft guns.

Air force: 3 000 people, 29 war-planes, 34 combat helicopters. Planes and helicopters: 9 F-5E and F, 8 Hawk Mk52, 12 Tucano, 7 DHC-5D, 6 DO-28D-2, PA-31, 3 DHC-8, Fokker-70, 12 Bulldog-103 and -107, 36 Hughs 5000, M and ME, 9 IAI-330, 3 SA-330, SA-342.

Naval forces: 1 400 people, 2 missile boats, 2 patrol boats, 2 storm-boats. Sea police: 5 patrol vessels (2 of them on the lake Victoria), 12 boats.
