Recruitment for the army is voluntary. Mobilization resources - 2,4 million people, including 1,7 million able-bodied men.

Land forces: 15 000 people, 3 defence zones, 4 infantry brigades, 4 battalions (armoured, presidential guard, SAS, engineers), 1 artillery battalion.

Arms: 24 heavy infantry fighting vehicle (12 AMX-13, 12 M41A1), 8 armoured reconnaissance vehicles, 20 armored troop carriers, 22 105 mm towed guns M101, 24 81 and 120 mm mortars.

Air force: 5 500 people, 6 war-planes and combat helicopters are not available. Planes and helicopters: 6 A-37B, 8 T-35B, 3 T-41 D, 3 C-47, Commander-680, Cessna 210, 2 PA-31, 3 Queen R - 80, King R, 8 Bell 205, 2 SA-318C, SA-365.

Naval forces: 4 000 people. 15 patrol boats, 4 support vessels, 5 towboats; protection and SAS divisions.
