Public Joint-Stock company "Kurganmashzavod" - is the biggest enterprise of Kurgan region and one of the defense industry leaders in Russia. JSC "Kurganmashzavod" is, first of all: well known around the world infantry fighting vehicles BMP-2 and BMP-3, and also armed recovery vehicle BREM-L and universal chassis on the basis of BMP-3, different weapon systems are created on its basis. The armies of 28 countries use combat materiel made by JSC "Kurganmashzavod" and it was highly evaluated by the specialists at the most prestige international expositions. JSC "Kurganmashzavod" renders all services in design, production, supply, maintenance and modernization of produced materiel.

Today JSC "Kurganmashzavod" is a big machine-building complex, which includes 10 plants and 5 supplementary workshops, which provide full production cycle from getting casting and stamping blanks, all kind of machine processing to assembling and complex trials of ready products. JSC "Kurganmashzavod" is not only BMP, but also a wide range of civil product: small-sized tractors, municipal construction machine, automobile trailers and a lot of others. And, at last, JSC "Kurganmashzavod" is new directions of development and new projects: tracked chassis for road building and forestry machines, snow-and-swamp cross-country vehicles, forestry machines, isothermal and refrigerator special purpose automobiles.

The history of Ural arms originates in the beginning of XVIII century when by direction of Peter the Great there were established famous Demidov weapons factories in the Urals. The traditions of reliability and duality of Ural weapons laid by him are kept till now. From those far times and up to nowadays the Ural manufacturers and gunmakers confirm the words of famous Russian scientist M. V. Lomonosov, namely "Power of Russia will increase through Siberia".

Since 1954 "Kurganmashzavod" manufactures combat fighting vehicles well known far beyond the Ural region and Russia. Artillery tractors became the first products of the plant and manufacturing of infantry fighting vehicles began in 1966. From the moment of formation of first infantry fighting vehicles concept and as it was developed for the period of more than 30 years "Kurganmashzavod" has been manufacturing infantry fighting vehicles meeting the word standards. In the latest years there was adopted manufacture of BMP-2 which was successfully proved in combat conditions in armies of many countries beginning in 1983 and BMP-3 one of the best vehicles in its class. On the base of these vehicles there are developed and manufactured various types of vehicles - command post, reconnaissance engineer and recovery ones. The multipurpose chassis made on BMP-3 base allows to develop new highly mobile types of military tracked vehicles of light mass category.

The JSC "Kurganmashzavod" today is a dynamically developing industrial enterprise, one of the leaders of Russia defence complex. Numerous export deliveries of vehicles and the established license productions abroad confirm high efficiency and quality of the vehicles manufactured by the enterprise. BMP-3 vehicle is in the field in armies of UAE, Kuwait, Cyprus and Korea. The BMP-2 license production is arranged in Slovakia and India.

The whole range of products, manufactured by Kurganmashzavod JSC is being designed by the Joint-Stock company "Special Design Bureau of Machine Building" (SDBM JSC). The company has an outstanding engineering potential and a modern pilot production facilities. Today SBDM JSC is the Russia's leading enterprise in the field of design of infantry fighting vehicles and their derivatives.

Capabilities of Kurganmashzavod JSC are not limited only by manufacturing of serial IFVS. Availability of powerful designing department and modern pilot production allows to develop and realise complex modernisation programs of IFV making new vehicle samples in short terms in accordance with customer requirements. Today we can perform all necessary operations in complex delivery including development, spare parts, training of customer's personnel, guarantee maintenance and servicing, modernisation and repair of different levels.
